Frame & Design is the place to visit for custom picture framing, engraving and beautiful giftware for any occasion. Talented custom framers make any piece of artwork, photograph or memorabilia look as if it belongs in a museum.
The shadowboxes will be treasured by generations to come. Creative custom engravers can meet your every need for traditional and laser engraving. They will make your award or gift unique. Art Classes:
Intro to Art Journaling
Have you ever wanted to make art but thought you were not talented enough? Do you want to learn a creative way to express yourself? Do you want to learn new and exciting art techniques? If so, this class if for you!! During this class you will learn all about art journaling. We will discuss multiple types of media and learn several different expressive techniques. This class is all about having fun with your art! No previous art experience necessary. Physical and emotional trauma can elicit powerful feelings for which words are week, but art can be a release. Art journaling is a no-experience necessary way to express emotions and ideas that are too powerful for words. Some people use art journaling as a way relieve stress or deal with difficult situations, while others use it as self-care due to its relaxing properties. Art journaling is useful for everyone in one way or another. This group will meet for four weeks and teach you many different techniques and ways to use art journaling to improve your life. For ages 15 and up. Minimum of 5 students. 1 (4 hour) class for $35 per student (supplies included in the price)
Zentangles
Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being. Zentangle is enjoyed by a wide range of skills and ages and is used in many fields of interest. With Zentangle, anyone can create beautiful images from repetitive patterns. This method is easy to learn and easy to do. All supplies included. For ages 10 and up. 2 (2 hour) classes for $25 per student
Basic Drawing
Class will cover the basics of Illustration to include constructing a well structured drawing. At the end of the class we will critique each other�s work in a group session. Some supplies are included, please bring 2 pencils. For ages 11 and up. Minimum of 4 students. 2 (2 hour) classes for $ 40 per student
Jewelry Classes:
Earring Class
Make earrings from beads and sterling silver/gold-filled findings. We will learn to wrap headpins and attach them to earwires. The wrap will be the “looped wrap” not the “plain loop” which tends to fall off an earwire. Take home several pairs of earrings from the class. All supplies provided. $20 per student. Minimum of 2 students with a max of 10. For ages 10 and up.
Bracelet Class
Learn to string a bracelet using glass beads, crystals, stone beads, sterling silver beads, gold filled beads and more. Discover the use for a toggle and crimp beads. Bracelets don’t take long to make which equals instant gratification. Take home a self-designed, one of a kind bracelet from the class. All supplies provided. $25 per student. Minimum of 2 students and max of 12. For ages 10 and up
Watch Class
Make your own, one-of-a-kind watch. The watch face, beads, and all beading supplies are included with the class. Be the only owner of a beautiful, self-styled watch. All supplies provided. $30 per student. Minimum of 2 students and max of 12. For ages 10 and up
Bracelet & Earring Set Class
Learn to make earrings and a matching bracelet of your choice. A set is the perfect gift for a special person…to include yourself! All supplies provided. $35 per student. Minimum of 2 students and max of 12. For ages 10 and up
Illusion Necklace Class
Make a necklace that appears to float around your neck by magic. We will use illusion cord and Swarovski crystals, pearls, stones or small glass beads to create up to a 3 strand necklace. All supplies provided. $25 per student. Minimum of 2 students and max of 12. For ages 10 and up
Swarovski Crystal Bracelet Class
Use large sterling silver tubes, Swarovski crystals, and Swarovski rondelles/squaredelles to create a fabulous bracelet worthy of many compliments. This class is a great deal with the current price of silver. All supplies provided. $35 per student. Minimum of 2 students and max of 12. For ages 10 and up
Metal Clay Classes:
Basics & Beyond
Come learn to fashion fine silver (.999) objects with Art Clay Silver! In this introductory class you will learn the history and characteristics of this medium. You will create a unique pendant while learning to texture, form a rollover bail, set a gemstone and polish your piece. All supplies are included. For ages 13 and up. Minimum of 4 students and max of 6. $50 per student
Rings!
Learn to measure for and create unique fine silver (.999) rings to adorn your fingers! You will learn to create our ring around a ring mandrel while incorporating a fine silver setting. After finishing and polishing you will learn to set a natural gemstone and proudly show off your beautiful creation! All supplies are included for one ring. Pre-requisite: Basics & Beyond class. Minimum of 6 students and max of 8. For ages 16 and up. $65 per student
Woodworking Classes:
Lathe - Segmented Bowl Demo
Come and watch how to design, cut and glue pieces of wood together that will then be turned on the wood lathe to create a beautiful and functional bowl. For ages 16 and up. Demo is Free!
Lathe - Slim Line Pen class
Students will create a slim writing pen out of wood! You will learn to safely mount your wood blank on the lathe, drill through a turning blank, turn the pen, sand, finish and assemble. For ages 16 and up. All supplies included for one pen. $15 per student
Arch Top Clock
Students will learn to safely operate a band saw to cut the clock profile; a router table to create a decorative edge and a drill press and sander to finish the project. For ages 16 and up. $25 per student, includes all supplies. Minimum of 4 and maximum of 20 students.
Intarsia Fish or Pig
Students will “sculpt” a fish or pig out of wood! Learn to safely cut patterns and make intermediate type cuts on a scroll saw and use a Dremel type tool to contour or “sculpt” your project. For ages 16 and up. $20 per students, includes all supplies.
Introduction to Picture Framing
Custom framed artwork looks impressive, imposing and expensive! This class will start you on your way to being able to frame artwork to fit your lifestyle and tastes. Learn to cut single and double mats, measure and safely cut frame moulding, measure for glass and dry mounting and assemble your artwork. Successful completion of this class will qualify student to use the Do-It-Yourself Frame workshop for future projects. All supplies included. Class size is limited to 4 students. For ages 16 and up.
Basic Lampworking
Learn how to safely create stunning glass beads that you will treasure forever. We’ll discuss safety, equipment options and explore beginning lampworking techniques. Take your beads home with you when class is over. This class teaches making a basic bead/dots/pulling and using stringer/raking beads and freehand shaping. Cost is $65 per student. 4 students max. Ages 16 and older.
Stacking Rings Class
Transform a piece of wire into wearable art! Learn basic metalsmithing techniques as we hammer, texturize and solder the day away. Leave with a set of beautiful stacking rings. They are popular for a reason. Stacking rings are versatile, stylish and comfortable.
