Starting in the 2009-2010 school year, Fort Bragg, Family and MWR will begin providing free after school transportation for 9th grade Albritton Junior High School Students and current E.E. Smith High School students residing on Fort Bragg. Students will be transported to and from after school activities such as tutoring, sports and other extra-curricular activities. The after school bus transportation will be provided by Fort Bragg Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS). All students must be registered with CYSS to receive transportation and registration is free. This initiative is a direct result of Fort Bragg's and E.E. Smith's continuing partnership to maximize education enrichment and academic success for Fort Bragg's High School Students attending E.E. Smith. This will provide students a safe and reliable method of transportation to increase participation in the programs and services offered after school, and give students greater opportunities to become involved with E.E. Smith's activities and functions and to enjoy the superb after school programs and services of the Tolson Youth Activities Center. The pickup and drop off point will be at the Tolson Center on Fort Bragg. Albritton students will have to meet at Tolson after school to be transported to E.E. Smith. Parents will be responsible for picking students up from Tolson. The following is our planed schedule for transportation: a. Pick up from Tolson YAC to E.E. Smith High School: 3:30 p.m. b. First pick up from E.E. Smith High School to Tolson YAC: 5:00 p.m. c. Second pick up from E.E. Smith High School to Tolson YAC: 6:30 p.m. To sign up for the service, student's must first be registered members of Fort Bragg Child, Youth and School Services. Families can register their children to utilize this transportation service by visiting Child, Youth and School Service at the Soldier Support Center. For more information, please call 910-396-8810 |
