A Guide to a Smooth Relocation of Military Students

This Commander's Toolkit is one of three prepared by the Department of Defense to assist installation commanders, educators, and families involved in large-scale military relocations.

This guide is for Installation Commanders who will see a large shift, either gain or loss, of military members and their families. The initiatives such as Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Global Rebasing, and Army Modularization will precipitate those moves.

As a result, schools near or on the affected installations will be greatly impacted.
