Welcome to Fort Bragg! Coming into an area with such a large variety of educational options, it's important that the Soldier, his family, and students are familiar with what options are available to them.
The Transition Gateway is intended to help you have a seamless transition into the Fort Bragg area school systems following your PCS. Remember, it's always important to begin thinking about the transition and the new school system before you arrive to Fort Bragg.
At every installation, there is a School Liaison Officer that can help answer questions not only about the current school system, but your new school system.

One of the most important things as you begin your move into the area is that where you live is where your child will attend school. So make sure that you shop for a school then shop for a house. Fort Bragg School Support Services is here to make the transition into your new school as smooth as possible. Should you have any questions, K-12, throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to give us a call.

No matter what school system you attend, whether it is Fort Bragg, Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett, Moore, Robeson, Richmond, Lee, or Scotland. We provide services for you.

What School Should/Would I Attend?
Fort Bragg School Support Services, once again, emphasizes that the family and student shop for a school first, then shop for a house.
In the school districts surrounding Fort Bragg, where you live is where your child will attend school. Most school systems don't allow a child to attend school out of district.
Keep in mind that only families that live on Fort Bragg will be able to register and attend Fort Bragg Schools. Families living in Heritage Village (Hoke County) are not eligible to attend Fort Bragg Schools. Families in Heritage Village will attend Hoke County Schools.
However, if you plan to be living on post and have obtained a 90-day letter from Fort Bragg Housing, you will be able to attend and register Fort Bragg Schools.
Resources are available at the Fort Bragg School Liaison Office to help you choose the best school for your child. Remember, every child has the ability to succeed at any school. It's always best that the family takes the opportunity to visit schools and meet the teachers and principals.
