Where Will My Children Attend School?

Your children will attend school in the district in which you reside. So it is important that parents shop for a school first then shop for a house so that you give your family the best possible options of the schools of your choice.

Here is the summary of where your child will attend school:

I live on the main Fort Bragg installation:

All students K-8th grade will attend school in Fort Bragg Schools. Fort Bragg Schools is a Department of Defense Education Activity School District. It is NOT public schools.
To attend Fort Bragg Schools, you MUST be living on the installation, or be on the waitlist for on post housing within 90-days.
To determine which school you attend based on your on post address, please view the Fort Bragg Schools Attendance Areas Chart.
You cannot attend Fort Bragg Schools if your permanent residence if off post.
Grades 9-12 attend high school in Cumberland County Schools. Fort Bragg's Host High School is Ezekiel Ezra Smith High School.
Students can apply to attend another high school in Cumberland County Schools the Cumberland County School's Governed Choice Program. Enrollment period is during January/February of the current school year for the following school year. If a family arrives after the enrollment period, their deadline is extended until June of the current school year. Transportation is NOT provided for out of district attendance.

Your children will attend school in the county and district in which you live.
You cannot enroll your children in school out of county. (e.g. If you live in Cumberland County, you cannot enroll your child in Hoke County Schools.)
You cannot enroll your child in Fort Bragg Schools.
