What should I do?
Get away from the attacker to a safe place as fast as you can.

Should I bathe or change my clothing?
Do not wash, comb, or clean any part of your body, or change clothing, because there may be evidence of the perpetrator on your body and/or clothing.

Where do I go?
Go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Should I call the police?
You or the hospital staff can call the police from the emergency room to file a report.

How soon should I go to the emergency room and report the incident to the police?

Go to the emergency room and file a police report as soon as possible. Valuable evidence will be destroyed the longer you wait to report the assault.

Who can I call for help or counseling?
You can call a friend or family member you trust to help you through the incident, or you can call a crisis center or hotline to talk with a counselor.
