What is expected of a Volunteer?
- To adhere to the same rules, regulations and standards as paid staff.
- To be prompt and reliable in reporting for duty.
- To work a determined number of hours according to a mutually agreed upon schedule.
- To complete time sheets in order to keep and accurate record of hours served.
- To attend orientation and training sessions as provided.
- To treat the public and fellow workers honestly and politely at all times.
- To consult with the site supervisor before assuming any new responsibilities.
- To protect confidential information and exercise good judgment.
Application Process
Why Register?
Registering is an installation requirement. In an effort to ensure our organizations, unites, volunteers are protected by federal statutes, and to effectively tract volunteer contributions to overall installation operations, organizations must comply with installation policy on volunteer registration and documentation of hours served.
Youth Volunteer Initiative
1997 President Clinton called on America to volunteer for two years over a lifetime. Through Americas Promise communities across the nation have committed to support volunteer activities and to develop opportunities for youth to participate as volunteer.
Promise passport promotes individual and group volunteer participation through established programs and installation and community organizations.
Promise Passport Goals
To facilitate opportunities for military youth to participate in volunteer activities. To encourage installation partnerships which aid the development of the initiative; To recognize the contributions of young people and adults. To document volunteer hours and activities.

To mobilize people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of our nation’s youth by fulfilling five promises:

- America’s Promise: Certificates (50 hours or more)
- Boys & Girls Clubs of America Leadership Awards- competition for Tolson Youth Activities Center (YOY) Youth of the Year, Regional and National BGCA YOY competition for medallions, certificates, and scholarships.
- 4-H Youth Leadership Awards- certificates and scholarships
Post-Secondary Scholarships, Grants and Employment
Volunteer Services hours are recognized by colleges and technical training institutions of higher education providing post-secondary scholarships, grants and work-study employment.
Paid Employment Opportunities
Most employers recognize volunteer hours as job experience, which aids the volunteer when searching for paid positions.

How You Can Make a Difference?
